What can I expect from the free consultation?
Our 15 minute consultation is simply a meet and greet of sorts. It offers us the opportunity to ask one another questions to see if we may be the right fit. I will ask you questions about what you are struggling with and provide you with information on my approach to therapy and outline my training. If your concerns don't fit into my area of expertise, I can refer you to someone who would be of better support to you.
Are your services covered by my benefits?
Most insurance companies do cover the cost of psychotherapy to a certain dollar value based on your individual benefit package. Prior to engaging in psychotherapy, I would suggest contacting your specific insurance provider to inquire. I do not provide direct billing to your insurance company, but do provide emailed receipts for you to submit the claims on your own. I currently am registered with Lumino, Blue Cross, GSC, SSQ, Empire Life, & Medic, however providers not included in this list also accept claims from Registered Psychotherapists.
Do I have to pay tax on top of the session fee listed?
As of June 2024, psychotherapy services rendered by a Registered Psychotherapst in Ontario are considered exempt from GST/HST. The fee you see listed is all you would pay per session.
Do you offer reduced fees?
At this time I do not offer sliding scale payment options.
Do you offer crisis support?
No. If you are in crisis, or in need of immediate support, you may contact: AMHS-KFLA Crisis Line 613-544-4229, 9-8-8, or text "Hello" to 686868 for a crisis responder.
